Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and scientific leadership for pre-clinical vaccine discovery projects from concept to proof-of-concept.
  • Translate advanced virological insights into actionable outcomes for vaccine and analytical development.
  • Oversee concept evaluation, analytical method development and validation, technology transfer, and related laboratory processes.
  • Inspire and mentor a high-performing team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage project planning, resource allocation, and progress reporting to ensure timely achievement of objectives.
  • Build strong partnerships with internal stakeholders and external academic and industry collaborators.
  • Ensure compliance with scientific standards, quality systems, and regulatory requirements.

Profile

  • PhD in Veterinary Medicine, Life Sciences, or related discipline, with at least 5 years of R&D experience.
  • Deep expertise in veterinary virology, including molecular virology; experience in vaccine development is highly desirable.
  • Proven leadership and project management experience (3–5 years) in a research-driven environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills combined with creativity and a collaborative mindset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; fluency in English required, German advantageous.
