Following a recent strategic repositioning and rebranding, Lasernet is entering a new chapter focused on modernization, scalability, and long-term product sustainability. The company operates across Denmark and the UK and is strengthening its leadership structure to support future growth and technical transformation.

The engineering organization consists of approximately 20 professionals across development, QA, and cloud engineering. Historically, development has been maintenance-driven, with parts of the architecture dating back to early-generation Windows-based C++ solutions.

The ambition is now clear: To evolve from reactive maintenance to proactive product and platform leadership.

Responsibilities

As Head of Development, you will lead the engineering organization and take ownership of the technical evolution of Lasernet’s platform.

This is not a maintenance management role. This is a transformation mandate.

You will work in close partnership with the newly appointed VP of Products to ensure strong alignment between product ambition and technical feasibility. The relationship between Product and Technology will be built on collaboration, requiring maturity, independence, and commercial awareness.

You will:

• Take full leadership of the development organization
• Define and execute the technical roadmap
• Drive modernization of legacy architecture
• Build engineering structure, governance, and culture
• Establish predictable release processes and CI/CD maturity
• Introduce AI-assisted development practices responsibly
• Strengthen cross-site collaboration between DK and UK

The position reports directly to the VP of Products and is based in the Greater Copenhagen area with hybrid flexibility.Responsibilities:

Technology Strategy & Architecture
• Define and own the long-term technology roadmap
• Lead architectural governance and modernization initiatives
• Manage technical debt through structured prioritization
• Evaluate cloud migration and containerization strategies
• Ensure scalability, security, and performance standards

Engineering Excellence
• Implement structured release processes and CI/CD pipelines
• Strengthen testing frameworks, documentation, and monitoring
• Improve predictability and quality of software releases
• Oversee build systems, dependency management, and performance optimization

Team Leadership & Culture
• Lead and develop a team of approx. 20 engineers across DK and UK
• Establish clear development methodology and lifecycle
• Build role clarity, career paths, and competency frameworks
• Rebuild morale and ownership within the team
• Address and strengthen cross-site collaboration dynamics

Strategic Partnership
• Act as senior technical counterpart to the VP of Products
• Contribute to executive-level strategic decisions
• Balance commercial priorities with technical sustainability
• Engage with partners and key customers when relevant

Profile

We are looking for a transformation leader first — and a technologist second.

You likely bring:
• 10–15+ years of software engineering experience
• Strong architectural background in enterprise software
• Experience modernizing legacy systems
• Proven leadership experience (team size 10–30+)
• Strong technical grounding in languages such as C++, C#, Java or similar
• Experience with Dynamics F&O technical architecture and ERP extension models is highly valued
• Hands-on experience with or architectural responsibility for X++ solutions is considered a significant advantage
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, security, and DevOps practices
• Experience with CI/CD, release management, and structured engineering governance
• Experience from SaaS, ERP add-on, or integration-heavy environments

Experience with Kubernetes, cloud migration, AI-assisted development tools, or ERP platforms (e.g., Dynamics F&O) is considered an advantage.
