Telephone Interview:
If your application impresses us, we’ll arrange an initial phone interview to get to know you better and learn about your motivation. You’ll also have the chance to ask questions and find out if Hays is the right fit for you. Please allow around 30 minutes for this conversation.

Interviews:
After a successful phone interview, we’ll usually invite you to one or two personal interviews via MS Teams and/or at one of our offices. Each interview lasts about 60 to 90 minutes. It’s important to us that we get to know each other well and ensure our expectations align.

Preboarding

Your First Day

Your first day is all about getting started: collecting and setting up your IT equipment and getting to know your team or department. You’ll also learn where to find key information and documents, your first tasks, and upcoming training sessions. You’ll be assigned a mentor who will guide you through the onboarding process. You’ll receive a schedule for the first 1–2 weeks via MS Planner for a clear overview. We also ensure you have enough personal time to explore and learn at your own pace.

The First Week

The first week is perhaps the most important part of onboarding for all new employees. You’ll gain an overview of the company and our business model. Additional topics such as our values, benefits, and an extensive Q&A round off the week.

Beyond professional training, cultural and social integration is a key part of onboarding. Networking plays a major role at Hays: we want new employees to be well-prepared professionally and have opportunities to connect and share experiences. In the first weeks, we create spaces for this, starting with your welcome day as the foundation for many future interactions.
