Project information

  • For our client, a renowned employer in the Swiss energy sector, we are looking for an experienced business analyst to support a process optimization and automation initiative within an energy trading environment.
  • This is a consultant role embedded in several initiatives, focused on delivering quick wins through process reengineering and design, with an emphasis on value creation across the trading lifecycle.
  • You're an ideal candidate if you're someone who thrives on digging deep, uncovering how things truly work, and challenge the status quo through structured, end-to-end thinking.

Responsibilities

  • Apply end-to-end (E2E) process thinking to map, analyze and optimize the full value chain from trade capture through to physical delivery, operations and settlement
  • Investigate actual business processes by actively engaging with stakeholders across trading desks, operations and IT
  • Chase down details with persistence-proactively work with subject matter experts (SMEs) and line operations to uncover how processes really run, not just how they’re supposed to
  • Identify inefficiencies, gaps and automation opportunities and deliver clear, actionable recommendations
  • Work independently to validate findings, test ideas and present re-structured designs
  • Ensure outputs are well-documented, transparent and support long-term scalability

Profile

  • Experience as a Business Analyst within the energy trading sector, ideally covering both physical delivery and front office trading
  • Proficient experience in power trading operations
  • Solid understanding of ETRM systems (e.g., Endur, Allegro) and how they support the trade lifecycle
  • Demonstrated ability to think end-to-end, see across silos, and connect the dots between commercial, operational, and IT functions
  • A persistent and investigative mindset-comfortable pushing for clarity and asking the "dumb" questions to get to the real answers
  • Strong ownership, attention to detail, and the ability to work autonomously
  • Familiarity with process mapping and modeling tools (e.g., BPMN, Visio, Signavio)
  • Experience in agile delivery settings
  • Knowledge of regulatory or compliance frameworks in energy markets
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)

Benefits

  • Exciting employment opportunity with a renowned organization in the energy industry
  • Central office location, hybrid on-site/remote setup
  • Option vor project extension
