Database Administrator (m/f/d)
Responsibilities
- Manage and operate Oracle and PostgreSQL databases on Amazon RDS and EC2
- Use RMAN for Oracle database backup and recovery
- Utilize Terraform for infrastructure automation and provisioning
- Apply DevOps practices to enhance and streamline database operations
- Design, implement, and optimize database architectures
- Automate routine database tasks and processes to improve efficiency
- Perform performance tuning and incident resolution to ensure database stability
Profile
- 4+ years of experience as a Database Administrator, including 3+ years managing Oracle and PostgreSQL on AWS (RDS and EC2)
- Strong expertise in SQL, PL/SQL, and PostgreSQL functions, with deep knowledge of performance tuning, indexing strategies, and execution plan analysis
- Proven experience configuring Oracle RMAN backups and implementing high availability/disaster recovery solutions (e.g. RDS Multi-AZ, read replicas, Aurora, EC2 failover)
- Hands-on skills in infrastructure automation and scripting using Terraform, CloudFormation, Python, or Bash
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g. GitLab CI, GitHub Actions) and integration of database processes into DevOps pipelines
- Proficient in monitoring and observability using AWS CloudWatch or similar tools to ensure performance and availability
- Knowledge of AWS services (IAM, CloudWatch) and database security best practices aligned with compliance standards
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to provide technical leadership and mentoring in cross-functional teams
