Hardware Design Engineer (m/f/d)
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of PCB schematic and layout design in alignment with evolving project needs.
- Collaborate closely with R&D teams to determine hardware and firmware requirements for power converters used in Solar PV and BESS applications.
- Coordinate with PCB/PCBA suppliers throughout the prototyping phase and manage production, assembly, and component sourcing activities.
- Support hardware verification, validation, and commissioning tests while ensuring strict adherence to laboratory safety standards.
- Maintain and update component libraries and contribute to the organization and upkeep of hardware testing facilities.
- Prepare and deliver regular presentations to cross-functional teams and document all design and testing processes thoroughly.
Profile
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science, telecommunications, or a related discipline, combined with several years of relevant industry experience.
- Strong foundational understanding of both analog and digital electronics.
- Hands-on experience using industry-standard PCB design tools.
- Proficiency in programming modern controllers such as DSPs, ARM-based systems, and similar platforms.
- Solid background in hardware and firmware testing, validation, and verification.
- High degree of independence, curiosity, and willingness to explore unconventional solutions.
- Knowledge of power electronics, FPGA programming, and electrical safety is an advantage.
- Fluency in written and spoken English; willingness to learn German. Additional languages are a plus.
