
Mechanical Design Engineer (m/f/d)




About the company
- Our client develops safety-critical embedded hardware and software for the aerospace and defence industries.
Responsibilities
- Design and development of mechanical components, assemblies, and systems using 3D CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Siemens NX, Creo, Inventor)
- Creation of 2D drawings, parts lists, and technical documentation
- Performing tolerance analyses, strength assessments, and thermal analyses
- Collaboration with production, procurement, quality assurance, and external suppliers
Profile
- Degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, or a comparable qualification
- Proficiency in at least one 3D CAD system
- Relevant experience in mechanical engineering
- Experience in the design and development of cooling systems (e.g., heat exchangers) (experience from the automotive sector would also be relevant)
- Experience in dynamic thermal modeling of liquid cooling systems
- Experience specifying and designing mechanical housings for electronics in harsh environments
- Knowledge of additive manufacturing methods and related design constraints
- Familiarity with standards, materials science, manufacturing processes, and tolerance management
- Good written and spoken English, German is a plus
- Due to the nature of the project (military context), only applicants with the nationality (by birth and current status) of a NATO or NATO partner country can be considered.
