Operational Buyer (m/f/d)
Responsibilities
- Monitor and track supplier performance; provide feedback to strategic buyers and category managers
- Support supplier changes, qualifications, and initiatives led by central procurement
- Ensure accurate and up-to-date material and vendor master data in SAP
- Handle Level 2 vendor escalations (delivery delays, confirmations, pricing issues, etc.)
- Drive vendor performance improvements in delivery, quality, and compliance
- Manage vendor returns (RMA, cost recovery, replacements)
- Conduct regular open order review meetings with vendors
- Resolve AP inquiries (e.g., invoice discrepancies)
- Support onboarding and approval of new raw materials and suppliers
- Execute RFx processes and assist in low-value contract negotiations
Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or equivalent experience
- Extensive experience in a similar operational purchasing role
- Proficient in SAP or comparable ERP systems
- Strong background in raw material procurement
- Proven ability to manage and improve vendor performance
- Experience in contract negotiation
- Commercially and strategically driven mindset
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Fluent in German and English (both required)
